My First Research Project Part II

Image
Hello everyone!! This blog is the continuation of my first research project experience. Don't miss the first part. Taj Mahal Palace currently under a private company in Indore, played a prank on us. We weren’t allowed to enter without permission letters. After completing the formalities, we revisited the palace. Through scattered sources, we discovered the palace is considered as the most haunted house. We were shocked! The movie Stree was filmed here, and locals advised the crew not to wear perfume or open their hair. We obeyed.  The spooky atmosphere was palpable. Luckily, we visited with another group of friends, planning to explore Taj Mahal and then Jagdishpur Fort together. Walking down the road, the palace's seven-storey structure loomed before us, looking like a ghostly giant. The Arabesque style and Muqarnas on the main entrance caught our attention.  We knocked, but no one responded. Peering through a tiny hole, I saw darkness – Bhool Bhulaiya vibes! Whil...

My First Research Project Part I

Image
When you heard of Taj Mahal, what picture comes to your mind? The one in Agra right?  However, few know that Bhopal boasts its own Taj Mahal, nestled beside the majestic Taj Ul Masjid. This palace was constructed by Sultan Shah Jahan Begum between 1871 and 1884, this palace 13 years construction period is a testament to its intricate craftsmanship. In this blog post, I'll share my captivating experience working on my first research project, which led my team to uncover the secrets of this lesser-known marvel. THE RESEARCH JOURNEY BEGINS During our 5th semester, our HOD Professor Ashish sir, assigned us a research project, giving us the freedom to choose any location.  My teammates, Anisha and Soumya and I were intrigued when our friend Ritik suggested the Taj Mahal in Bhopal. Our curiosity awaken and we embarked on this project without hesitation. We wanted to explore this beautiful piece of art, unveil it's architectural elements and spread an awareness as nothing...

The Enduring Wisdom of the Soul

Image
"The way I care for people makes me wish I had somebody like me in my life" I had this sentence imprinted on my mind for a long time.  As the year passes, I met different people and understand that everyone is facing an invisible battle that we can't judge by the moments we spend with them.  I realised that most of the time we get hurt because we expect from others that it's their duty to fix us or to make us feel better. That's not right.  The older I get the more I realise that the people you confide in, trust, become friends with, what you watch, what you eat, and even what you consume is all temporary. I know that loosing friends is not less than a heartbreak. The worst part that I've faced is the person is still there but the connection is no more. We end up spending our life building meaningful relationships with everyone but some people don’t even care about us on a deeper level. Now what? The moment you awaken, you see right through all thi...

From Shy to Social: My Transformation Story

Image
Hello 👋🏻  Have you ever believed that introverts and extroverts are fixed personalities? I'm here to challenge that notion. My own journey is a testament to personal growth and transformation. Eight years ago, I was a shy and reserved girl, content with my small circle of friends and family. But a single decision changed everything. If you're curious to know Here we gooooo!!! The Turning Point In 9th grade, I transferred to Maharishi Vidya Mandir, a new school that would become my catalyst for change. I was still the same Shruti, unaware of the incredible journey ahead. You'll be surprised to know that it began with reading. In my Social Studies class, we took turns reading aloud. When it was my turn, I read my part. Afterward, my teacher, Mukti Ma'am, asked me to meet her in the staff room. I was anxious, wondering what I had done wrong. But instead, she dropped a bombshell: "Shruti, you're anchoring the Independence Day event!". My heart ra...

Indore Diaries Part II

Image
Hello folks!! You've been waiting, and now it's time to reveal what happened next! Due to that mind blowing kulhad pizza I got food poisoning so we had a pretty bad morning. Mariyam and I kept gazed at our itinerary with puppy eyes, our plans seemingly doomed. Though I had my strong will power that in any case I won’t miss this great opportunity. Later, mariyam’s friends got to know and they were too concerned and even brought juices for me. At that moment I realised I’ve found some gems in Indore though I hate juices but I liked their gesture of care. After sometime our prayers were received to god and I started feeling better. Finally we got ready and when I stepped down the stairs wearing a long frock, Diksha called me princess. We booked a cab to Lal Bagh Palace and they all kept teasing me as if I’m the princess who’s going to meet the king at the palace. They all called me princess for like 1000 times that day I’m sure the other people would have believed that my name is ...

Indore Diaries Part I

Image
Hey everyone! I recently visited Indore to meet my best friend, Mariyam. We've dreamed of living together and exploring a city since childhood. As a first-timer in Indore, I struggled to find my way to her hostel and Google maps were playing a different game with me. Also, this was the first time when I faced a warden and experienced hostel life. She gave me very strict looks at first but she turns out to be the sweetest lady.  As soon as we reached Mariyam's room, we burst into happiness, taking 25 minutes to process the reality of our reunion!  After realising that this isn’t a dream, we headed to a nearby cafe with her friends, Diksha and Nice (yes, that's his name!) They recommended must-visit spots and Mariyam and I even prepared an impromptu itinerary. Learning routes was not our thing and observing that her friends realised that leaving us alone would be a disaster. At night Mariyam decided to take me to the Chhappan bhog. We quickly got ready and asked t...

Healing Harmony

Image
The biggest life lesson I’ve learnt is that to be healed doesn’t mean everything will feel suddenly perfect forever. It’s a misconception I used to punish myself over. Greetings everyone!  Hope you're all good. Remember the last time you cried but those tears made you feel stronger and healed? When you get better you add more colours to your life. I guess, that's why growing up is the most hardest yet most beautiful part of our journey. Speaking of which I would like to discuss about healing. To be healed means: >  We have better coping mechanisms to deal with the tougher emotions when they flood in again. > We have more compassion for ourself. > We understand our triggers. > We set stronger boundaries. > We create standards we deserve. > We understand not everyone will understand. And we ultimately learn to put our mental health above everything else.  I know it's really gloomy where we are trying to move ahead in our lives but suddenly we g...
